it looked like this.

You know, for Christmas. I needed somewhere to hang my Christmas Card Holder Dealy-o.
(Ahem, send me a Christmas card, would ya? So I can look/feel like less of a looo-ser?)
Now, on a normal, daily basis, this blah wall would look like so.

And I have really loved that print; truly I have. It was so fun to walk past, read it, and say
"Il Est Vraiment Bon."
"Il Est. . . vraimentbon."
"Ilestvraimentbon."
In ze best frensh. Hawhaw (Pepé LePew laugh).
Seriously, I'm a little sad that it now has no place in the kitchen. Really. Sniffle.

Even if those freaky looking french kids were going to climb out of the frame one day and slaughter us all in our sleep. You can see it in his eyes, can'tcha?
See, "Operation Spice Shelves" has begun.

And there's no going back now, man.

Used this mother trucker:

to make way for some inset shelves.

Will molding be used?
Is chocolate delicious??

OH YEAH...this looks like it's gonna be SO AWESOME. I cannot wait to see the finished product. If its' good (and I know it will be, cause you never disappoint), I bet I can convince my hubby to build me one. My gosh, I can't even tell you how excited I am for this one!:-)
Can hardly wait to see the finished project!!! Thanks for the parchment paper- hope you found it on the porch. Pretty sure I stopped by when all the drilling was going on.
This is going to be AWEOSME! I'm so excited to see it. WOW, Mandi, the things you have done with this house that was blah and boring! You're turning it into a MATERPIECE that we're all trying to duplicate.
Oh, and I will totally send you a Christams card. It might be kinda fun to see Jamison's reaction when he sees Landon and wonders why on earth you have a picture of him on your card holder widget!!!! =)
WHAT???!?!?! I'm not half asleep or anything. I just decided to cut my first sentence short. What I meant to say is that I'm so excited to see it finsihed and Mandified!!! (I know I'll be totally green with envy!)
Oh how cool this is going to be. Maybe Daddy-o can do a tutorial for those of us who don't have a handy one of him around. I love to do some inset bookshelves. That card holder is too cute.
Electrical wires, very scary!
Yay! I see my card in your post. So where are ze Christmas cards now? :-)
I just never have enough nerve to take a reciprocating saw to my walls.
I am a big drywall weenie.
Dude that is so scary to cut through the wall! I am glad you have someone to do it for you because there are wires and everything in there!
Can't wait to see it done
That will look awesome! I can't wait to see it finished!
Seriously, that takes some guts. You go girl. Can't wait to see the finished project, with molding!

Yes. Chocolate is delicious. So YES it will totally ROCK! Can't wait to see it finished.
Dude- I'm already jealous.
What is it about cute bottles with individual labels that make life so good?
You and your dad are brave, brave souls :)
I want to do that in my bathroom! Gah!!! Can't wait to see it finished, cause I have no idea how I would go about doing it.
I'd send you a Christmas card if you don't mind getting it after Christmas, haha.
And yeaaaah, those French kids are creepy.
Ha! I'm glad you are taking down that picture before they have a chance to begin the massacre! I can't wait to see the shelves! And - I love the EAT letters! I saw those at Hobby Lobby and fell in looooooove. It was my first trip to HL (We don't have them here in Canada) just a couple of weeks ago, and SWOON. Seriously. I could set up a bed and live there.
